The Teeny Awards, the ground-breaking student theatre arts recognition program of the East End Arts Council (EEAC) in collaboration with the Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center, will celebrate its sixth anniversary on Sunday, June 8, 2008. The Tony Awards-style festivities start at 4pm.

TEEN & YOUTH AUDITIONS FOR SUMMER MUSICAL THEATRE AND ACTING WORKSHOPS
Theatre Arts Center, a summer theatre workshop for talented young performers,
announces auditions for 7-19 year-olds who are aspiring actors, singers, and dancers.
The Center is pleased to welcome to their staff Guest Artists such as Karen Mason, MAC Award for Major Female Vocalist of the Year for six consecutive years, Carlos L. Encinias from Altar Boyz, Amy Karlein from Spamalot, Paul Canaan from Legally Blonde, Angelo Fraboni from Jerome Robbins Broadway, and more. They join many other Broadway performers who teach at the Theatre Arts Center in a Musical Theatre Workshop and a Teen Acting Company.
The workshops end with public performances of a fully staged show.
The Center is in summer residence at the Professional Performing Arts Center,
Queensborough Community College, Bayside, Queens.
Auditions are scheduled by appointment.

Theatre Three Offers Summer Fun for Children!
Theatre Three offers the Dramatic Academy and The Musical Theatre Factory programs for summer fun. Our mission is to give our students the most interesting, innovative, and exciting experience possible. This includes invitations to special performances with a meet-the-cast question and answer period. Creative Dramatics students will attend a performance of THE HOUSE THAT JACK BUILT. Pre-Teen, Teen, Advanced Teen, and Musical Theatre Factory students will attend a performance of
1968: ROCK THE WORLD.
All workshops begin on July 14 and meet for ten classes over a five week period. Offerings include:
CREATIVE DRAMATICS - Ages 6 - 8
Mondays & Wednesdays - 9:00 - 10:30 am/$150
An introduction to the stage. Basic stagecraft and theatre games with an emphasis on developing acting skills through focus and self-control. Final Class: Original Showcase Performance based on classwork.
PRE-TEEN WORKSHOPS - Ages 8 - 11
SESSION ONE: Mondays & Wednesdays 1:00 - 3:00 p.m.
SESSION TWO: Tuesdays & Thursdays 9:00 - 11:00 a.m.
$175 - Introduction to acting. Improvisation, theatre games, beginning scene and monologue work.
Students are eligible for Children's Theatre Production.*
TEEN WORKSHOP - Ages 12-15
Tuesdays & Thursdays - 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 pm/$175
For all levels of experience. Basic scene and monologue work, stage technique, beginning and advanced improvisation. Students are eligible for Children's Theatre Production.*
ADVANCED TEEN WORKSHOP - Ages 12-17

Advanced work in all areas: Scene work; sensory and emotional recall; audition techniques; etc. Previous experience and permission of Dean of Dramatic Academy. Students are eligible for Children's Theatre Production.*
As part of the summer workshops, all students will have the unique opportunity to appear in the final production of our Children's Summer Season, Alice's Most Decidedly Unusual Adventures in Wonderland along with Theatre Three's professional cast. Please note that participation in this production will require rehearsal time outside of regular class time. Students must be available for ALL rehearsals and ALL performances to be eligible. NO EXCEPTIONS WILL BE MADE SO PLEASE DO NOT ASK. Permission forms must be returned immediately for participation in the production.

Theatre Three's Musical Theatre Factory begins its fifth year on July 14 and meets Monday through Thursday. Ages 9-12 will meet from 9:00 AM to 12;00 noon. Ages 13-17 will meet from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Cost of this summer program is $550. Students will receive a special souvenir script, music, and a t-shirt as part of their camp membership.
Students will work with a director, musical director, and choreographer learning the basic essentials of the creation of a musical. The program will culminate in two performances of HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL (One act edition). Performances by students aged 9—12 will be on Mon., Aug. 11 at 4 & 7 p.m.. Students aged 13—17 will perform on Tues., Aug. 12 at 4 & 7 p.m. Each student will receive four complimentary tickets good at any of the performances. Additional tickets can be purchased at $8 each.
